​Contest Rules
▪ 1 entry per student

▪ Student must live in Mesa County
▪ Poster must be created by the student only
▪ Poster must be submitted by the deadline time and date
▪ Poster Entry Form must be filled out completely and submitted with poster
 
Poster Guidelines
  • Poster size must be no larger than 16” x 20”
  • Poster must relate to this year’s theme: “Develop courage to stand up for yourself and others”
  • Poster may be created on regular paper, cardboard, or canvas
  • Poster may be created with various art supplies: paints, colored pencils, charcoal, or collage materials to be used (paints or glues must be completely dry when poster is submitted)
  • No obscene or offensive items/words/images
 Contest Rules
▪ 1 entry per student

▪ Student must live in Mesa County
▪ Essay must be composed/written by the student only
▪ Essay must be submitted by the deadline time and date
▪ Essay Entry Form must be filled out completely and submitted with essay attached
Essay Guidelines
  • Essay must be typed on regular plain white, 8 ½” x 11” copy paper, size 12 font, double spaced
  • Essay must relate to this year’s theme: “Develop courage to stand up for yourself and others”
  • Essay length must adhere to age group requirement:

          6th-8th Grade: 200-400 words or approximately 1 – 1.5 pages
          9th-12th Grade: 300-500 words or approximately 1.5 - 2 pages
          College: 500-600 words or approximately 2-3 pages
 ◦Include a bibliography if needed, but do not count it as part of the essay length
